V&A and Tall Boy Prints: The collaboration
Naturally, we believe that the prints we sell are some of the best. But this isn’t solely down to our own efforts. In fact, we have an exciting new collaboration with the incredible V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum) – the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance. We’re extremely proud to be able to share this collaboration with our valued customers.
Although it’s mentioned across our website, you may not know that many of our prime prints are wonderful reproductions of the V&A’s original objects. And you can add each one to your home.
Showcasing everything from textiles and birds and botanical prints, to iconic Alice in Wonderland art pieces, there’s so much to explore in our inspiring collaboration with the V&A. You can incorporate these reimagined pieces into your décor and proudly share their history and fascinating stories. Hanging any of these prints in your home is certainly going to delight your friends and family, and open up new and exciting conversations.
What does this collaboration entail?
Simply put, we use original artwork from the V&A's celebrated archives and reproduce and reinterpret it ourselves, making this series of art available to everyone who visits our website looking for some impressive wall art. Plus, it encourages every one of you budding artists or décor-enthusiasts to spruce up your home with quirky and charming prints, with something to suit every room.
All of our prints from this series have been inspired by the V&A’s brilliant collection of illustrations, posters and photography. This gives you an array of artwork options to choose from when you’re purchasing a piece for a loved one, or yourself as a treat!
What types of pieces are included in this series of artwork?
Our extensive range of art prints inspired by the V&A offers a fresh interpretation on artistry. Any homeowner, art collector, or individual looking for a cheerful and meaningful gift will adore this divine range of artwork. You’ll love the prints we offer from some of the greats, including John French and his beautiful fashion photography or adapted examples of William Morris’ designs.
Or perhaps you’re looking to inject some quirk and character into your space with elegant Art Nouveau prints or mystical constellation art? Whatever your preference, you can discover the different pieces we’ve adapted from the V&A, and choose from a variety of marvellous artwork from this range.
We’ve also carefully reinterpreted beautiful Japanese art and designs from the V&A, the original designs of which were collected as far back as 1852, leaving a world of opportunity for us to work with. We’ve selected the very best from this line of artwork and made them available to you as prints. The same can be said for our stunning retro pop artwork, which features bold lettering and colourful floral patterns based on designs collected by the V&A.
What lead to the collaboration?
If you’re wondering how the collaboration came to be, our answer is simple: our praise and appreciation for the V&A. Our Co-Founder, James Mace, notes, “We have always admired the V&A as both a historical institution, and as one of the leading commercial players in the Art Inspired licensing world.
“When we came up with the idea of Tall Boy Prints back in lockdown, we were determined and inspired to reach out to the amazing licensing team at the V&A. We wanted to explore the opportunity of working with them and gain access to their unique and historic labyrinth of assets. We were absolutely delighted when we signed the deal with them, and we can’t wait to share this special collection with you all.”
