Claire Mayes

Claire Mayes is an illustrator and designer currently based in a small rural village on the outskirts of Leicestershire. 

Taking a wide breadth of inspiration from flowing natural forms to bold striking typography, Claire uses imaginative, unique and often abstract mark making techniques, alongside hand-drawn elements and contemporary digital illustrations in her bold, colourful work. 

Graduating from Staffordshire University in 2011 with a BA Honours degree in Surface Pattern Design, Claire has enjoyed working in the design industry for almost 10 years. An in-house designer for The Art File since 2016, Claire’s designs can be found in the collections of independent and high-profile retailers both nationally and internationally.

Claire now works as an in-house designer for Tall Boy Prints and The Art File. Her work is part of the Tall Boy Prints collection, which features art from all of our in-house designers.
